I was on a 2.5-week RV trip through the Northeast from Arizona and wanted to try Walleye fishing on Lake Erie. My wife wasn’t up for it, so I booked a morning charter with Captain Al out of Lorain in mid-July. He made sure everything was set up ahead of time and gave me clear advice on what to bring. Instead of trolling, he suggested casting for a more authentic experience, and it paid off—we caught our limit using his gear with spinners and worms. Most of the fish were in the 20"–25" range, with a few around 18". I had expected a cleaning station at the dock but ended up improvising with ice in a camp chair bag to get the fish back to my RV—my wife wasn’t thrilled about that part! Overall, it was a great day of fishing and learning about the lake, and I definitely plan to book with Captain Al again next year when I’m in Ohio.

Captain Al was absolutely fantastic! It was a memorable mother-son outing, and the boat size was just right for us. Captain Al's kindness, patience, and extensive collection of lures and supplies truly impressed us. We're already looking forward to booking another trip with him in the future. As an added bonus, he treated us to some delicious smoked salmon, which was a delightful surprise! 😊

The only improvement needed would be a more comfortable seating option; sitting on hard wood was tough on my backside.

While Captain Al's boat might not win a beauty contest, it's undoubtedly the best choice if your goal is to reel in some impressive Walleye. His expertise is evident, and he maintains his boat's gear impeccably. Within just three hours, he had us catching limited amounts of 5-8 lbs Walleye – an incredible experience! We're already planning to make this 5-hour trip at least once a year, perhaps even twice. Thank you, Captain Al, for an exceptionally thrilling fishing excursion. Your over 50 years of experience on these waters shone through in the fantastic fishing action we enjoyed!

Captain Al promptly guided us to the fish, and we easily reached our catch limit. He's truly skilled at the art of fishing! Moreover, he's always there to assist in getting the fish on board. We couldn't be more delighted with our overall experience!

I arranged Captain Al's charter as a Father's Day present for both my husband and my father, and they had an incredible experience. Captain Al proactively reached out to me before the charter to ensure he had everything required to fulfill their expectations. He proved to be an excellent host, adept at looking after his guests. His equipment was of the highest quality, and his expertise was readily apparent.
